We help nonprofits better understand their donors and improve their fundraising results.
Sample Projects
Increasing Awareness and Donations
Working on behalf of a community development organization, CFSC interviewed individual donors, institutional donors, prospective donors, and community affiliates to better understand perceptions of the organization. We then recommended specific strategies for increasing awareness and generating incremental donations, including pursuing additional corporate sponsorships, offering more volunteer opportunities, and targeting younger individual donors.
Board of Sponsors Restructuring
A local affiliate of a national nonprofit asked CFSC to investigate how its Board of Sponsors (BOS) could be restructured to increase its value to the organization and to BOS members themselves. Through interviews with executives at local and national nonprofits, CFSC learned how those organizations structure, utilize, and motivate groups parallel to the BOS, as well as key factors contributing to the success of these groups as they relate to fundraising and publicity.
Direct Mail Package Review
To improve the direct mail effectiveness of a human rights organization, CFSC evaluated 501 C3 and 501 C4 fundraising packages based on donor preferences, previous package results, and direct mail and fundraising best practices. We then developed recommendations related to offer, message, positioning, copy, formatting, and design.
