Purchase Mortgage Market Assessment
On behalf of a leading lender, CFSC reviewed mortgage lender branch practices, including popular products, customer characteristics, lead generation and conversion, and application, approval, processing, and closing procedures. We contacted loan officers, branch managers, and sales managers at the top lenders to determine which lenders made purchase money loans through their branch networks and discover best practices for our client.
Increasing Credit Line Utilization
A national mortgage lender asked CFSC to identify the most effective strategies and practices of lenders for increasing the utilization of home equity lines of credit (HELOCs). To that end, CFSC studied the account opening process, including acquisition strategy and channels, product offers and incentives, and response channels and closing process. We also evaluated customer management processes, including account fulfillment and activation programs and incentives.
National Deposit Strategy
A mortgage lender was funding its warehouse of loans awaiting sale to the secondary market or securitizations using short-term borrowing, but wished to begin accepting retail deposits as an alternative funding source. CFSC developed a comprehensive, compliant, and cost-effective plan to help the lender reduce funding costs and diversify funding sources by accepting retail deposits by phone, mail, and Internet.
