Small Business Banking Market Potential

CFSC researched how a national bank could best provide banking services to small business owners. CFSC recommended focusing on a particular market segment and offering competitive checking and cash management accounts, as well as basic lending products such as a credit card, unsecured line of credit and loans, and mortgages. We also provided two options for market entry.

Business Rewards

CFSC assessed the profitability of adding rewards to a credit card offered to small business owners. After conducting a detailed examination of other lenders and an analysis of card usage, we concluded that in this particular case, a rewards program was unlikely to generate sufficient lift to justify the associated costs.

Non-prime Business Opportunity

To help our client determine whether to expand small business efforts, CFSC conducted preliminary research on the business opportunity associated with non-prime small business lending. In particular, we gathered information regarding the overall small business market size and the non-prime segment of this market.
